Synthetic Turf Infill De-Compaction

Just as with natural turf surfaces, your infill field can become compacted and impact drainage and playability. Infill fields show signs of compaction after three to four years without proper maintenance.

At Scientific Plant Service, our specially designed “spring tooth harrow” will loosen, agitate, and level out the infill. The penetration into the infill layer is closely monitored so the base layer of sand is never compromised. To ensure performance, we recommend the service be performed once per year.

Professional Surface and Debris Cleaning for Baltimore’s Synthetic Turf

A final essential component of our Baltimore synthetic turf services is topical sweeping and debris cleaning. Our “Verti-Top” synthetic turf cleaning machine has spring tines that reach into rubber infill and work foreign matter up to the surface. The matter is then swept into the machine with a rotary broom. Once the debris is brought into the Verti-Top, it is separated from the crumb rubber, which returns to the field. Finally, a high-powered magnet passes over the surface to extract foreign objects that may remain in the field. The entire Verti-Top is designed with a vacuum system that keeps dust and contaminants from returning to the field. This procedure is recommended for use on a quarterly or as-needed basis.
